From what i could gather its 90-95% of the original genome and they used the other 5-10% from captive gray wolves. Its hard to sift through the info thats credible vs the info that isnt. No info on if they used a surrogate or not. They did use a lactating female as a mother figure for the first few weeks of thier lives. The company is being kind of secretive about some of the process and that maybe due to the fact that they have US Dept of Defense involved with some of thier projects. Regardless it’s still a pretty huge accomplishment in Bioscience to be able to replicate the process. They openly admit that the DNA and Genetics have been edited to match. How much theyre actually being transparent about is in question. This maybe the closest thing we can see that may have been the first wolf type species that was domesticated by early humans. Studying thier behavior is only going to help advance our knowledge on ethology.
