    Hi Alan,

Sounds like you are making some progress with the work you are currently doing with counter conditioning and desensitizing.

In addition to your current work I would recommend reading through the self help section of the website if you haven’t already. Working your way up the triangle you will find a lot of useful information such as understanding body language so that you can read the emotional state of cypress efficiently , protocols for establishing leadership and much more. All of this is an integral part of creating and executing an effective plan .

Unfortunately there are currently no foundatuon style certified trainers in van couver. As far as training is concerned I would recommend using the self help videos to work your way up through the 3 phases of training so that you can get more reliable obedience in distraction. This will set you up to desensitize and counter condition more easily. . I would also get Cypress used to wearing a muzzle so that you can safely work on improving his behavior around people. I would recommend a Baskerville ultra muzzle or other basket style muzzle like the wire basket muzzles found on Dog harness , Dog collar , Dog leash , Dog muzzle – Dog training equipment from Trusted Direct Source – Home, Dog Supplies. There is a great video on how to acclimate him to the muzzle in the self help section as well.

If you look through the aggression rehab videos you will see many dogs that have become success stories through the foundation method of training.

Keep us posted on your progress and any further questions .
