Hey, really nice training — both the combined one and the session with just Athena.
Regarding the session with Athena, do you take into account the way you pet her? There was a moment when both of you got a bit hyped up during petting, and Athena actually jumped up on you. I don’t know how old Ana’s kids are or if that’s an issue for her, but could that kind of interaction be indirectly encouraging Athena to jump up toward people’s faces? I’m just wondering if it might be better to limit affection to when the dog has all four paws on the ground and encourage her to receive rewards that way.
The two-dog training was at a great level. Did the girls have some time to run around together and blow off some steam beforehand, or did you jump straight into training? Have both girls fully completed phase 3? Was this a typical phase 3 avoidance conditioning session? There was a moment at around 6:50 when you sent Vetra to her place, said “no,” then “no” again, and only after that repeated “bed.” You gave her quite a bit of time to self-correct — and if I understand correctly, only used the e-collar after repeating the “bed” command? Do you still find yourself needing to adjust the e-collar intensity during sessions like this?
Really cool sessions! Thanks for sharing them — it’s always great to watch other trainers work, because you often get great exercise ideas for your own clients!
