This isn't a perfect representation, but the underlying concept holds true: the more confident a dog is, the more their facial features pull forward; the less confident they are, the more their features pull back. This model is especially useful for evaluating dogs exhibiting defense based aggression. Use the slider to adjust the dog's confidence level against their intensity of aggression. As a bonus, moving the slider left of the aggression line reveals appeasing and playful expressions. Have fun!

Interesting. Great graphic. Since he was am 80-lb adult when I adopted him I’m not sure why (early experience or lack thereof and/or genetics), but left to his own devices, Luca’s a very confident agressor. At this point, it’s just toward dogs, and even that’s much improved, but when I first got him, he went for people, automobiles, turkey vultures flying overhead, etcetcetc. FSDT, starting in Phase 1 has been a major reason why.
