Hey! First, nice work Patryk 🙂 I strongly recommend to go thru all phase one videos, plus check also for video instructions here. You will learn a lot and progress much quicker with you client and it will help you to stick in to the foundation style dog training.

Managed to give you a bit of critics anyway 🙂

I know polish is hard with choosing the marking words! I would have myself total dilemma, but I think ‘super’ might be a little bit to much in use in our language, don’t you think? Plus I find it a little bit to soft in pronunciation. It’s just a thought, personally I use ‘dobrze’ (good) lub ‘dobry pies’ (good dog) what let you to use a little bit more emotions in process.

Attention to the name I think for very first lesson for client would be better to start with treats and leave fading and Premack for a bit later?

With heel are you planning to use traditional heel (dog position behind handlers leg- recommended here)? So then I would start from teaching dog and handler where dog should be then focus on loose lead itself.

Another very good exercise is one step heel.

That will be all from me as I’m still working on phase one myself.

BTW, @Mike thank you for all your critic! To be honest teaching dog his name was always my weak spot. I struggle how to keep it simple and don’t mix anything else to it as you noticed. I will review some lectures and attempt it again. 😀

Just to test it a bit. This is a link to my first video. What do you think about this format?

I hate my voice on recording so I used computer voice. Check it out. I think training video has a bit to much movement, but currently can’t find any better one.

    Generally work in progress!

Those ones are the only drugs which will prevent your dog getting ticks in Poland. Especially Bravecto can be very heavy on liver too. They not appropriate to use on some collies.

Mostly you have a choice- those drugs or lime disease or other ticks related sicknesses… I’m glad that in UK ticks are not infected so much at the moment.

In UK all dogs are given Nexgard Spectra as deworming tablets now.

I was going to share that a while ago, wander what you all think about that? I think that will not resolve a problems but just more dogs will be putted down. Especially if only recommended methods will be pure positive only.

A lot of dogs from UK owned by Poles is actually taken for training back to Poland 😉

Great work Allie! She is doing it so nicely! Btw I thought that only my dog doesn’t like toys with other dog slobbers but it looks like that is more common issue than I thought.

Interesting one, I watch that all. I like the fact that guy is trying to stick to the facts not to the philosophy. Also from my own experience of working with positive only school, quite often dogs are going through much more of emotional pain that is needed. For example- a lot of trainers does not like dogs having social interactions with other dogs; they explain that if dog is playing with other dogs you have nothing to offer to that dog so have to be strictly avoided. In extreme version puppies are coming to group class to be training separated by low walls so they can’t see each other and owners have to admit that them dogs would never have social contacts (this is real example!).

Another example is one dog policy, I was told that if I get second dog I will set bad example for customers 😆 so when I decided to get second dog I put my resignation 😉

And my absolute “favorite” 3 seconds rule. Dogs can only meet for 3s nose to nose on tight leads when owners counting 3 2 1 and then pull dogs away.

That should created perfect focus on the handler. From my observation, dogs which I denied social interactions are getting totally obsessed with other dogs, that along with no trained punishers (positive only approach- you only ignore bad behavior) creates a dog which most likely never will be able to be let off the lead because will try to go and interact with random dogs or will became dog aggressive (frustration).

I know there will be exceptions, that is just my observations from couple of years of running group classes.

Those dogs which were very successful in training quite often had another dog at home or was interacting with other dogs in the family.

Also very often trainers are not taking into consideration the breeds, some breeds really need those social interactions, some other ones are happy to live solitary.

    Thanks for posting this one!

Nicely written! In luring itself I would more focus on the luring first and then do separate instruction for seat or down as they a bit more difficult for the dog to do. Especially if you dealing with untrained adult dogs which you will most likely do all the time.

I love the way you showed how dog can follow you hand first with treat and then without. And that you can ask dog to come on the objects.

    Well done 🙂

You literally verbalized what was lingering in my head! This is really a step which could be avoided.

First- most of our clients dogs already know them names, unless they think that they are called NO! or Stop that! I think more important to teach them that they need to add command after that name and the fact that name never is command itself. Sometimes I start to just repeat them name over and over again so they start to understand the concept. And of course no telling dog off just using the name too.

How do I thought name to my dogs?

When they tiny calling them when they were fed, when I wanted to play with them etc. For training I use shorter version of them name in Pixel’s case- Pix. In recall situation I repeat his name so it sounds like Pix Pix come 😆

Plus I also have reward signals- different depending on what and were is the reward at that particular moment… Super complicated but… works for competitive obedience.

Anyway, not planning to teach that anytime soon to pet owners.

Btw, was kind of waiting for review from you 🙂- thank you! Good points!
