Nice one, our normal ability to switch off to some sounds is a blessing. Autistic kids have also very sharp senses, hear from massive distances. There was somewhere a book written by autistic person, he mentioned that he was able to hear someone picking up phone 3 floors down from his flat. I used to work with autistic children on hipotheraphy.

Just coming back to this now.

    IACP v APBT

IACP got few points from me for having option to translate Code of Conduct to my language. Unfortunately not the best attempt as contextual translator is full of mistakes; making it almost not understandable…

There is a bit of similarities in both of Conducts

    * they both stands against of racism and all sort of possible discrimination of people and them dogs

    * both also emphasizing on need of continuous and ongoing development of the professionals

    * they also highlight need of passing case which is to difficult or out of our knowledge to someone else more experience

    * both also have good point on not promising something what we can’t deliver

    * importance of paying fees to the guild and respect to them members

    * importance of following government/ county laws those referring to animals and others

    Differences:

<font color=”rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)” face=”inherit”>* IACP quite wordy and a bit messy; total absence of clear layout which could be helpful to find relevant </font>information

    <font color=”rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)” face=”inherit”>*APBT- very nicely space out with headers and highlights- easy to search</font>

    <font color=”rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)” face=”inherit”>*IACP- clearly stating on not supporting of the ban of any tools or methods nor letting members to </font>criticize<font color=”rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)” face=”inherit”> of others. </font>

<font color=”rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)” face=”inherit”>*APBT- using LIMA or rather own </font>interpretation<font color=”rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)” face=”inherit”> of LIMA to justify not using of aversion and some other tools. In UK version is trying to ban of using all tools including even flat collar- so you have only harness to work with dogs 😉 This point of view is totally against of Steven Lindsay point of view. </font>

    <font color=”rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)” face=”inherit”>*APBT- </font>emphasizing<font color=”rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)” face=”inherit”> on not attacking members and other trainers using the social media and web</font>

<font color=”rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)” face=”inherit”>*APBT- also very expanded complained system, including separate section for putting LIMA based complained</font>

    <font color=”rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)” face=”inherit”>*IACP- anybody abusing animals will be removed from guild. </font>

Totally agree! Can you write few words once you watch it? Wonder what you think about it…. A lot of people which is against E-collar never really used one or used a bad one. I have myself experience with some e-collar called e-sky- by a chance a gave myself a shock at level 18 and lost feeling sensation in my hand for 3 hours 😆 ET-300 doesn’t do that even on 50😅

It’s nice video from Ivan- I watched it yesterday. He is talking about a lot of scientific studies and mentioning one which was used as argument to ban e-collars in Scotland and Wales in UK. There is nice video from Jamie Penrith explaining how that study have been done, with a lot of bias and mistakes. You be able to see videos taken during the study itself.

In summary it’s all very political here in Europe. There is a few more things associated with force free, for ex- dogs should never play with others dogs once they pass 3 months of age as later you have nothing to offer them… I see that as something what greatly contribute to so called reactivity…

Not involved with APDT, but was working with positive only trainers to such extend that I was employed, even promised that business will be mine after they get retired. There was one condition- I never, ever change them program. Program which was not working, which left people with questions never answered. If I tried approach anything different way even when that was working, customers were taken away and explained that I’m wrong and there is no other way of working than that one which wasn’t working. That felt so wrong for me….

    What I write that here?

Sometimes shouting from the roofs is just waste of your time and effort. Go your way, and let results speak for themselves 😉

When I decided to quit it turned to be a big ordeal… Those people still are not talking to me, here where I live we are small community. Most people know each other, sometimes it’s not to easy. My dogs are not perfect and I know this is getting noticed. Currently only what I can do is play blind and deaf and follow my way.

Btw, just finished ethics too 😉 And looking forward to continue my journey with FSDT.

Good luck Marina and never give up!

I have seen it already! It’s really good! I totally agree 👍 with all what was said. Maybe finally people will wake up and we will have more nice obedient dogs enjoying life with them families to full extent instead of being locked in back yards as they never come back, can’t walk on the leash or what ever you fancy to put in…
