Good point. Equipment error must always be considered when troubleshooting. Often ecollars are put on too loose or borderline too loose. Sometimes it seems to be on tight enough, but when a dog lowers his/head to sniff the collar doesn’t contact.

When using a dogtra collar I almost always use at least 3/4 inch contacts to ensure a long enough reach of the contacts so I don’t have to cinch so tight -even with short haired breeds.

Always remember to loosen and reposition the collar every 2-3 hours to avoid pressure soars.
