I tagged you in a post…I can’t share my page’s posts…. I thought I had it on a YouTube video, but I guess I don’t. Good opportunity to practice writing a description! You would hold the dog collar in front of them, super loose, (start with flat collar) and lure them through with a high value food reward. This may take some shaping. Often times, I will reward a dog just poking their nose through at first. I name it just like any other command “Vetra Collar” and mark at the appropriate time. I will do multiple repetitions during times that the dog doesn’t actually need to use the gear. This helps build a positive association towards putting gear on rather than gear meaning that they are ultimately going to receive corrections. It also helps to be in a neutral position rather than standing over the dog. Kneeling down can be very helpful.
