Less than it takes for people. In the class I took they hooked a dog up to a doppler blood flow monitor. That machine transforms blood flow into an audible sound so you can hear when it stops. They demonstrated the amount of pressure it takes to completely stop the flow of blood in a rear leg. It was easy to stop with a good squeeze of your hand. I tested this on Senna (poor guy, he’s so nice to let me experiment on him) by monitoring his pulse with one hand while I played around with stopping blood flow through digital pressure.
