I think there is more of an element of insecurity than fear at play here. We get a full display of the incisors and canines but the corners of his mouth stay relatively forward. The two most telling things for me in the video are that (1) the dog acts this way when approached on the pillow and (2) the dog escalates the threat when David’s hand goes over the top of his head. Both indicate to me that the aggression is rooted in Social.
