Thankyou, Dustin. i’ll chekitout. i do know this is backward chaining. that’s y i began where i did. after two very brief sessions, she’s holdng her nose on the object for a little longer. gonna practice that some more and then slowly, bit by bit, get her to put it in her mouth. gonna take a long time, bec, like i said, she’s not into it, just not her thing. but she works hard for food, so we’ll get there, eventually. she’ll never be a gun dog. but it’s fun for both of us. my goal is for her to fetch small objects (she’s only 35 lbs, so a beer can is too big), but maybe keys, socks. etc. i am gonna order a fetch stick made by chuckit that i hope will be just the right size for training
