I like to keep it simple with leash manners…..”this way”, “Don’t pull”, and “easy” (easy means slow down or inside—-turn towards the dog) (or as the dogs progress just pumps) I try to use cues tat can transition off leash, next to bikes, for runners or people riding horses, all are proceeded by the dogs name and followed by a leash correction on harness or collar (depending on the level) or an ecollar correction. I use “wait” imstead of “hold up” but i think it means the same thing….I dont like to just use the dog’s name….i feel like it is an opened ended conversation and can be confusing given the other uses of command structure
