Nose work is a great idea. I want to start Sierra in nose work also. I was also thinking playing hide and seek with him would be good. I started playing hide and seek with Sierra just inside the house at first. I would send her to her ‘place’, and then go hide in another room, or in a closet, and then call her to find me. After a bunch of times doing that inside, I brought her mat outside and hid around the yard somewhere and got her to find me. The other day she ran over to the fence to bark at somebody walking their dog and I hid out of sight and called her and I could see her look for me, and then look at the person on the street and she had to decide which would be the more fun thing to do, bark and get crazy or play hide and seek. And she decided to come back and play. That’s a good way to combine a bunch of things we do in class too – place, recall (find me), ignoring distractions, and play.

    Hi Judy,
I was responding and i think I sent my previous reply without finishing it. This might be my second reply.
Anyway the website/info is awesome and i really appreciate your advice on mine and the other topics.
As to your question about the leadership categories and where they fall. Now that I’m follwing K9-1’s steps and see the logic behind it I say they would be all ‘entitled’ except food and outdoor access which are ‘provided’, and those are the two things we have no problems with.
Also, like I mentioned I’m still new to the forums so let me know what the proper way to respond should be going forward. Is this the correct way to use the forum? I dont want to tie things up with all of my questions if there is another way. I will get a training log going once that glitch with the journals is fixed.
    Thanks again for the help.

Hi Mike. I’m having the same problem adding a journal as Sharon was having. I followed the instructions that you posted but I don’t see where to write anything into a journal.
