Shinobi is our male intact Taiwan Dog (AKA Formosan Mountain Dog).  We obtained him from a breeder September 22, 2018 after I visited this breeder and one other in Taiwan.  Our purpose for getting him was to train him for protection work but I also like the character and physique of primitive breeds, so this breed seemed to be the most likely one to fulfill those needs.
He was 5 months old at the time we got him and basically had zero training.   It was a struggle in the beginning but he is now doing well, especially using foundation-style methods of training.  He is very suspicious to defensive with strangers but does adjust with time.  With other dogs, he is now showing some dominance tendencies.
