Hey! I have had clients with escaping geniuses also….gotta love em! Some dogs do get out due to anxiety, some due to ….why not? Its “funner” outside! My only concern with the vibration is that if the dog is motivated, that will quickly become something they can ignore, and will become mute. A couple solutions we used: bars in the tracks of sliding glass doors, security pins (easy and inexpensive online and not ugly….lots of different options) also making sure the dog has drive balance, flirt poles are excellent for in home fun, even without a yard. The dogs that did have anxiety, we carefully acclimated them to the idea of a door not opening….sometimes it can cause them to chew through walls etc. If the clients were able, we set up larger dog runs or put 4x6x6 kennels in a garage or spare room so the dog could be contained with more room. Hope this helps! They are lucky to have you in their corner!

Will try a blind, it could be because everything smells like odor….the box she “falsed” at was on the table previously, we have been doing some reorganizing (which is why the house looks crazy) and all the nose stuff was piled all over the place, so its possible that could be it. It also could be cueing. This dog knows me and maybe I do a weird twitch or something….Ill have Brian hide it a couple times next and we’ll see if I miss fire lol! Thank you so much for watching and helping us! I think she really likes it when her handler stays out of her way!

I use look at me to help until heel is installed in phase 3. I don’t take dogs into environments beyond what my available motivators can work with, and I set the expectations accordingly. Hope this helps.

Thank you for your feedback Art, and taking the time to watch this! Jacob is my first hands on since Stormy. The owner got Jacob to replace his beloved pitbull who passed away. He used to breed and show Danes, so he is familiar with and loves the breed. Jacob was not bred by someone seeking temperament and is much different his past dogs. He loves this dog enough to admit he needs help and to seek it. I can’t think of a better situation for a dog. He will learn how to handle the ecollar after Jacob is proofed on it. I am excited to take him to the park and get him running with me!
