I am 60 and retired. I have had dogs all my life. Total of 8 German Shepherds and several mixed breeds over the last 40 years. Five of the Shephards were reacues, including one that had been in a police dog training program and failed to meet their needs. This did give me some exposure to more advanced training. All my dogs have been trained in obedience and I have never had any serious problems with my dogs, we earned lots of ways to keep peace and harmony in the pack. I have lots more time now and I have a 10 month old male German shepherd. I would like to, eventally ,train this one in personal protection. You appear to share my philosophy on treatment and training of dogs and you look like the perfect people to learn from. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. |
