Hi Jenni! I have some questions, are you still withholding water? If so, I would recommend discontinuing that and making sure that he has water in the crate. Withholding water can have the opposite effect of what you are trying to achieve and also cause a number of negative side effects healthwise.
What is the rest of his schedule like?
What is he eating? And how often?
Is he on any medication’s?
Have you had him tested for parasites, including Giardia?
I have had people with similar side effects in dogs that receive kelp as part of their diet on a regular basis (it is a common ingredient in dog food….It may also say algae or marine algae) switching to a kelp free diet helped within a few weeks.
What happens when he pees in his crate? Is there any punishment involved?
How is he being rewarded for going to the bathroom at the appropriate time?
Where is his crate located?
I am interested to find out what the urine sample comes back saying.
