Great video! I love your camera work!

The concern that I see is the dog is being praised and corrected for the same thing at different times. Sometimes you praise her for walking next to you other times she is getting corrections for being best to you. Some times on the stop she is praised for being perpendicular and sometimes she is corrected and pushed backwards. It helps to really decide what you want the heel position to be so that there is a definitive difference between the right thing and the wrong thing. Because she receives praise and corrections for the same behaviors (position) it’s going be hard for her to build confidence in this command.

It’s normal for mistakes to happen as the dog kind of floats around and that’s what the steps are for. Not the single step heel, but the slow steps and side steps that are in the phase 2 heel videos. Those are the conditioned punishers. The Elu series is a great visual aid! Here is the first video! https://youtu.be/yaugK4xk-4w?si=cYHb1KueKtCbuKm4

At two minute mark there were some corrections that didn’t really make sense. I wasn’t sure what the expectation of her was the turn was done so quickly. I don’t think she knew how to achieve that. My suggestion for heel seeking is start in 45° angles instead of a full 180. Breaking down like that will make it easier to understand seeking that position.

Thank you for putting this out her for us to learn from. It is so helpful and is inspiring me to be sure I’m focusing on the details and not resting on laurels!
