    It sounds like you were able to get pretty close to your dog, before the mounting of course 🙂
    Since the remote offers higher motivation, once he is done with Phase 3 training you can usually work at a closer distance. Your goal can be to keep him on a Phase 3 climb, heel etc in the presence of another dog. Solid obedience will allow you to do better counterconditioning and desensitizing.
    Once he is successful at holding a command such as sit, work on counterconditioning by offering food (if he will take it) or just praise and love for non reactive behavior.
