Sadie

Sadie is the family black and tan female German Shepherd Dog. She was born in April of 2016, and we provide a home with lots of interaction. We have two other dogs in our home – Rexie and Blaze – two mixed breed terriers who are much older than Sadie. Rexie was born in 2008 (we think) and Blaze in 2010.   For exercise, they love to play fetch with the tennis ball, take off-leash walks and wade in the lakes at the large dog park (100 acres) near our home. I let them exercise at their comfort level. I am incorporating an incrementally increasing amount of physical conditioning in Sadie’s training plan, but nothing too strenuous until her bones are mature at approximately 18 months.   Our dogs eat a balanced, species appropriate diet that includes raw chicken, beef, organ meats, bone, egg, and frozen sardines in appropriate proportions. They are lean with body condition score of 4 out of 10, and they fast regularly.   We groom them weekly, often twice per week, and incorporate a natural flea and tick protocol, along with using a flea comb.   They enjoy a pesticide-free home, pesticide-free flea and tick control, minimal vaccinations and natural immunity – I used titer tests to determine when Sadie attained the antibodies necessary for immunity to Distemper, Parvovirus and Adenovirus.
