I understand and thanks for touching on this. so i forgot to mention that i did express under no circumstances are we to force any interaction or engagement otherwise as the dog does not have too with anything, instead we are focusing on building a relationship with the owners, in playtime or games. under Leadership i expressed that all resources and play times were to be controlled and be on a schedule. Affection not being one of them for obvious reasons. I also explained that the dog may never want to interact or engage with certain people, but someone has to take him out on a leash during the day as they do not have a fenced in yard or ability to keep him contained. when his wife is putting a leash on him he thinks that someone is going to pet him and that’s where the problem is that I’m seeing. initially i thought it was fear aggression, but the body language does not give me any indication of that. yes they are also aware that he will never be a mushy lap dog, i did explain that whole heartedly and couldn’t stress it enough, and i did express that we want to create a serious deficit of affection for him.
