Jacob was being over fed so we made an adjustment there, afterwards no further adjustment was needed. He eats life’s abundance large breed. His training treats are stella and chewy meal mixer bites. They are soft and high value, super easy for him take, I started with them because he is not my dog, and I wanted to offer him something super yummy, then it stuck…I like giving him variety and it is easier to handle than little kibbles with his giant head, its also what I like to give my girls….so it was already on hand. Some of my clients train with the dog’s food…I usually let them decide….if I am honest I love to spoil the dogs and provide nutritional variety any possible way I can so I encourage people to use “wholer” food dog as training treats, if they can swing it and if they are interested in variety. Jacob usually eats his breakfast early, so we didn’t need to make adjustments here, unless I was going to pick him up earlier than normal, then he skips so I don’t have to worry about safety/digestion.
