I agree, not related much unless we are talking about aggression inhibition. In protection dogs are either going to bite hard or not at all. The only thing that I can see worthwhile to discuss about bite inhibition and protection would be if someone made a habit of allowing their dog to mouth them all the time during play instead of using a toy/tug. If the person corrected the dog harshley and often for mouthing to hard it maaay cause some taboo to the dog when asked to bite another human hard.
