I like to keep it simple with leash manners…..”this way”, “Don’t pull”, and “easy” (easy means slow down or inside—-turn towards the dog) (or as the dogs progress just pumps) I try to use cues tat can transition off leash, next to bikes, for runners or people riding horses, all are proceeded by the dogs name and followed by a leash correction on harness or collar (depending on the level) or an ecollar correction. I use “wait” imstead of “hold up” but i think it means the same thing….I dont like to just use the dog’s name….i feel like it is an opened ended conversation and can be confusing given the other uses of command structure

This is awesome…i wonder how my girls would do….I have always done little things to help my dogs use their nose but i wonder what would happen should they have to relay on it. Does the tone beep  loud from you or is it in the collar and just beeps to let them know you are somewhere wanting them to come?

This is so cool!!! How did you set this up? Do you drop them off? Or did you have a point person? How could this be replicated? Assuming one had the right tools?

Sportdog is a good brand….they may be uncomfortable (digestive issues) maybe try an enzyme blend……..(storm eats dirt to self sooth) this has helped….Mercola has a good one https://www.chewy.com/dr-mercola-digestive-enzymes-dog-cat/dp/152041

This is soooooo cool! Are the dogs supposed to bey the hogs or corral them? Or both? This is so interesting to me! I love that you are taking it in a thoughtful direction. I know of hunters that come back with crates full of shredded dogs. It’s so awesome that you are finding a way to stay strong in the sport/utility and still care for the animals.

    Thank you art!!!!
Yes, we started VERY slowly months aGo….after watching bite building. Stormy does best if we take the learning process slowly….we keep tug special only playing a couple times a week….we rotate with pole bending and swim….which we also try to keep “special”… I love your feedback…. awesome reminder to pay attention to detail and not skip steps!!!! It’s easy for me to over think and move quickly…. I get super excited!!! I’m excited that she is getting more into the bite….the last few tug games we are focusing on getting her to RE-BITE and get that mouth full…. her go to move is a bear hug and alligator roll with the tug….or sister…. so glad to see her more upright!!!! BABY steps with this girl!!!!
