Ok, good catch! It’s very rare that I have to use the ecollar for those commands with Blitz. He’s usually pretty good with Heel, Sit, Down, Come, and Stay. I only use it if he’s really being a butt (which is rare) and if I do use it, vibrate usually does the trick. So the command structure with ecollar should be (Blitz->Heel->No-> Heel/Correction/vibrate)? Is there anything you’d like me to have him do on video for you? I have an evaluation with a professional dog trainer in my county on Friday to see if he’ll qualify for protection training. He turned 3 in Nov. and seems to have a good grasp on obedience. Do you think he’s ready for some defense work? I always enjoy your responses! Thank you for the criticism!!!

Thank you Allie! I use the ecollar when I say no. For example, Blitz Sit-No/Vibrate, Sit. He is on the ecollar for sit, down, come, stay, and heel.

Since he loves the pool so much, does anyone know how I would start training him to retrieve stuff from under water?

Thanks for your reply! I caught myself using “eh eh” a couple times. I’ll definitely try to be more consistent with “No”. I’ve been using “Ok” as you guys use “Free” since he was a puppy. I don’t see a reason to change it now. Do you? As for the Climb command, I’m just getting him used to doing it. Repetition I guess, lol. I’ll try to do more commands with out using Climb so much in my next video. A leather leash is on the top of my list. That’s my next investment! I’ve scaled back on troubleshooting the “Heel” command as per Mikes suggestion. Still a work in progress. I appreciate your feedback on my video. Thanks

Ok Great reply. I am new here, lol. He will heel forward. Yes, I’m having trouble with him starting to move backwards. I also now know that my command structure was not right. Mike advised me (after this post) to not work on heel because Blitz is confused about what I want him to do. My fault. I’ve been using YouTube and internet articles thus far to train him. I’m going to get him used to the command structure first before I troubleshoot the heel any further. I have video journals if you’d like to check them out. I’m new at this and I’m learning something new every day. I appreciate your feedback. Keep it coming.

Hey Allie! We just had a baby so it’s been kinda crazy lately. I’ll start uploading some videos again this week.

Thank you for your reply! I printed out the obedience chart yesterday as a matter of fact, lol. I also printed out the command structure chart so my wife and kids (15,13,10, 1 on the way, lol) understand it. Might need some help checking off some of those boxes from you guys. I’m admittedly a novice so your feed back is welcomed. I’ll definitely rewatch the leash ninja video. I was practicing the finger lock earlier, lol. I have watched every video in obedience 4.0 (sorry if I butchered the name). I binged watch most of them so it was A LOT of info. I’m sure I’ll have to rewatch some along the way. I’ve also watched many of the personal protection 4.0 (sorry again) as that’s where I like to eventually take this journey with Blitz.
