I just added a new curated “Dog Training News” feed to the stale “news feed,” which was mainly based on K9-1 activities in the past. I am going to limit it mostly to laws, studies, etc.. that I can add the source material to and keep as unbiased as possible to keep the community informed on these topics. I may tweak the format a bit over…

The Jute gives teeth holes to sink into so it can put pressure directly on the teeth and the gum line and it makes it difficult for them to let go because they can sink so far into the wide weave.

Bowie has a new fan!!!! She is great!

I’m glad you liked it!! Thanks for the tip on the material, I had no idea. I’ll try and find something better on that site. She’ll play tug with anything, its more what gives me leverage 🤣

@Taylor I LOVE THIS VIDEO!!!

I tell people I work out so that I can play tug 😂! At first I was concerned about the other dogs being there creating conflict…but then I saw the level of control you have (gorgeous BTW) and I actually think it’s helpful for their relationship! This video actually made me laugh. Not because it’s funny, but…

The black pitbull (Bowie) loves to fight other dogs. Its never personal. It has been a problem her whole life, and FSDT has helped tremendously. She still had to be managed a lot more than I liked, though.

Recently, I heard a podcast talking about how getting boys with anger issues into MMA really helps them, because it gives them a…

First of all, obedience is not the solution to every problem. It’s just “Managed through commands”

If I teach a dog the command “leave it,” obviously I’m teaching the dog to let go of an object. But at what exact point am I telling the dog, “This is not a good idea, grabbing this leash. Don’t do it again”? I’m not interested in teaching…

You are probably right that it was more about your tone and the interaction rather than the actual act of holding the collar and while it might be less aversive than other things, it is still aversive. My main concern throughout this conversation has just been being true to definitions.

Agency is important if we are going to claim we are…

Hi Allie,

Reiterating a point I made prior, I think the key is contingency. Dogs don’t react negatively when I touch the e-collar remote or the leash, even though their corrections have come through those things. Because punishment has been made clearly contingent on something they can avoid. I think they are smart enough to discern the…

For my own personal clients, I would not utilize that method because I would be concerned about the dog associating aversiveness with hands coming toward them. While they may tolerate certain behaviors from us during play, is he always going to accept that in response to him biting (someone is going to be reaching for him with their hands)?…

My position is not whether or not that is LIMA or cynopraxic, but whether or not that is obedience.

@Taylor I do think we need to be careful about saying that you didn’t have to use any aversive tool. He did receive an aversive interrupter by you grabbing his collar and making him uncomfortable (which was the goal to discourage the behavior…

I cannot upload videos at the moment due to file sizes. But massive improvements and progress with Helios. When time allows I’ll attach some short clips. Strict leadership and clear communication in the obedience combined with avoidance conditioning via Ecollar. Has made him much easier to handle for the owner. There are still outliers. Other…

<div>The Cancer Risk Underfoot…American families have spent decades applying herbicides and
pesticides to American lawns. Dogs walk through them barefoot. Children
crawl and play on them. The remarkable thing is how little serious
research has been done to determine the extent of the biological injury

Finally replying back!

**DIRTY DOG FIXED!**

I was able to get the issue fixed with a different approach. Nothing from a urinalysis was needed, it was fixed behaviorally before I could get a sample done.

Thank you for all of the clarifying questions! And I did not know that about the kelp, I will keep it in mind for my toolbox, he is on…

Luna was a rescue who came in dangerous to handle. She is a highly emotional girl who dealt with ALL conflict (real or perceived) with combat. If she encountered anything that made her feel uncomfortable she would attempt to stop it by attacking the source of the conflict. If she was on leash, reacting at a trigger, and felt tension on the…

We can make it the standard for our training and educate others as we do. 💜🐾

I totally agree that FSDT is this what we all are missing in dog training, it’s so straight forward, easy to understand. That should be a standard, but we have what we have.

Thank you for reading 💙

I like it, I understand your frustration. I do believe that there are absolute truths in behavioral modification and canine ethology. When we understand absolutes and know how to tactically apply them to individuals…we are practicing the foundational concept of cynopraxis and LIMA. I also believe FSDT cultivates absolutes, LIMA and…

Could you please have a look what you think about this kind of description as dog training business foundation?

You can probably tell how much fed up I am with fighting with politics.

All critique welcome.

Hi Jenni! I have some questions, are you still withholding water? If so, I would recommend discontinuing that and making sure that he has water in the crate. Withholding water can have the opposite effect of what you are trying to achieve and also cause a number of negative side effects healthwise.

What is the rest of his schedule like?

What is…

I’ve got a 4 month old male German Shepherd puppy, white long hair.

Background:

Brought home at 7 weeks old. Breeder used carpets and rugs Breeder did not expose to crates or confinement.

I used puppy pads and tethering for first few weeks with success while crate training. He began<font face=”inherit”> to not sleep at bedtime and quit using the…

So when Vetra was a lil tater tot we did odor recognition tests as something to do while we waited for her titers to come back. Once I was getting her out and about we let them go. Our last practice was sometime around 16-18 weeks old. She is now 2 years old. It was sloppy… I basically picked up where we left off and she was a little bit…

hello, I watched the entire “Meet Your Instructor” lesson and passed the quiz.

However, when I try to access the LIMA lesson, it says I need to complete all the prerequisites first.

I also noticed that the “Meet Your Instructor” lesson says something about having to watch it from beginning to end. I didn’t realize that at first, so I skipped…
