Operant Conditioning

Operant conditioning in dog training is the process where dogs actively learn through rewards and punishments as consequences of their choices.

There are four main quadrants of operant conditioning:

  • Positive Reinforcement
  • Negative Punishment
  • Positive Punishment
  • Negative Reinforcement
